2015-16 NCAA Golf Regionals - May 2-4, 2016
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern University men's and women's golf teams both begin NCAA postseason play this upcoming Monday, May 2, at their respective in-state regional sites.
The No. 5 women and No. 6 men both were recently announced to be part of the NCAA Regional fields, and each will play three days of 18-hole stroke play to determine who moves on to the 2016 NCAA National Championships. The women are competing in the Super South Regional, in Pensacola at the Marcus Pointe Golf Club. The men are heading to Howey-in-the-Hills, at the Mission Inn Resort and Club, for the South/Southeast Super Regional.
Among the 12 women's squads participating, the top three South Region teams advance. For the men, it's the best five teams among the 20 in the combined regional field that move on.
The Shark women will be represented by
Mailen Domecq Chantry (So., Mar del Plata, Argentina),
Aldana Foigel (Fr., Plottier, Argentina),
Jamie Freedman (So., Miami Beach, Fla.),
Sophie Madden (Fr., Essex, England) and
Michelle Ruiz (So., Mississauga, Ontario, Canada). The NSU men's quintet will be made up of
Santiago Gomez (Sr., Armenia, Colombia),
Juan Jose Guerra (Fr., Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic),
Morgan Hobbs (Fr., Tequesta, Fla.),
Richard Mansell (Jr., Staffordshire, England) and
Hunter O'Mahony (Sr., Jupiter, Fla.).
Here is the list of all teams participating in the two regionals. For the men, the ranking is the latest Golfweek Bushnell DII Coaches Poll. Nine of the 10 South Region teams are ranked, as are six more from the Southeast. For the women, the measure is the most recent Golfstat Head-to-Head Rankings, which includes eight of the top nine teams nationwide, while all 12 teams are in the top 25. Teams are listed in order of seed.

The three top women's teams and top five men's teams will represent these regions at the 2016 NCAA National Championships. Both are in Colorado about two weeks following the completion of regionals. The men go to Denver, May 17-21, to play at the Green Valley Ranch Golf Club. The women are in nearby Aurora, May 18-21, and will battle at CommonGround Golf Course.
